How Do I TURN OFF CLOSED CAPTIONS ON PHILIPS DVP3020 DVD PLAYER.

Hi George,

On the remote control there is a button called 'Subtitle' - second one up from the bottom on the left.

Press that to set whether subtitles are displayed or not.

I hope that helps.

Best Regards,

Rich

Hi if it was as simple as pressing subtitles button I would not have needed your help, I done all that stuff before didn't work then or now it's CLOSED CAPTIONS I WANT REMOVED not subtitles.
George.

Hi George,

When are the closed captions appearing?

Best Regards,

Rich

Hi George,

Think I've found it.

Press Options (just above Home button) and scroll down to Closed Captions where you should be able to turn this off/on.

Rich

Hi, Closed captions come on screen when something on dvd makes a noise -eg buzzing rapidly -bottle breaks - for hard of hearing. What would you call the home button on remote, no options button above
or on remote. George

Hi George,

Understood.

Whilst playing the DVD, press the Disc Menu button and use the arrow buttons to navigate around and see if there is an option which will turn off Closed Captions, it may be under Subtitles or a different name.

Best Regards,

Rich

HI, THE INVADERS TV SERIES ONE, GEORGE.

Hi George,

I can confirm that the DVD is closed-captioned - it mentions it here under Video & Audio.

https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/33545/invaders-the-first-season-the/

I suspect the problem is specific to this DVD, possibly because it's of USA origin, please try some others to confirm.

Best Regards,

Rich
