I am trying to play a pre-recorded DVD ("The Crown") but all I get is a message saying 'Please eject disc. Playback feature may not be available on this disc'. I am using a Panasonic DVD video recorder Model No: DMR-E50. Can you help, please?

If so, please can you check what region number The Crown DVD is for on the DVD case.

Hi Alan,

2 is correct that's the UK/ Europe region code.

Does it look like a genuine manufactured disc and case - the artwork and printing on the DVD and case should be crisp and clear?

Are there any significant scratches on the DVD surface?

Try cleaning the disc with warm (not hot) water, shake off the excess and let it air dry (don't use a cloth, etc to dry it to avoid scratching).
