This speaker you cannot connect via Bluetooth as this TV does not support it

But the speaker you have, does it have a AUX in port on it?

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
The Headphones are my main concern.
Customer: replied 14 days ago.
I've tried about 10 Headphones

ok, you need to connect them to the headphone port on the TV via a cable.

If you want wireless you can get these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Wireless-Headphone-Ireland-Supply-Black/dp/B005SO0OFE/ref=sr_1_4?qid=1562585394&refinements=p_89%3ASennheiser&s=electronics-accessories&sr=1-4

You connect the base unit to the TVs headphone jack and then the headphones work via the wireless transmitter that comes with them

I'm aware of these options, but my question is; why does Bluetooth only work selectively? Is there a Firmware update for the TV?

No, it is how it interacts with devices, it is not compatible with everything, there is no firmware upgrade

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
there was me thinking that Bluetooth was a communications protocol.

It is, with different standards implementations

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
The why does it not work? It works for other devices I try and succeed connection to.

it is not compatible with everything, there is no firmware upgrade
