control centre no longer works with Catalina on a Mac. which downloads are available?
JA: What Operating System (OS) are you running on your Mac?
Customer: catalina
JA: How long has this been going on with your Mac? What have you tried so far?
Customer: since I downloaded catalina recently
JA: Anything else you want the Mac Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: my printer/scanner is DCP J515W

Your answer was the one suggested by Brother but is only two driver updates which I had already done. As there is no Control centre compatible with Catalina and DCP-J515W printers, how do you now scan and print?

You can print through the regular printing mechanism in mac. As for scanning you would do that through image capture. https://support.apple.com/guide/image-capture/scan-images-imgcp1004/mac
