Hi Pete
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
If suggestions do not work and I pay the £16, is a refund issued?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Actually, A phone call would not work since I cannot access anything on my phone
I'm basically locked out since it just keeps on saying ''Phone is starting''
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

You can ignore any phone call offers that may pop up - they are sent automatically.

"nothing is working to get it back to the homescreen" - what all have you tried so far?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Ok
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I've tried everything
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
It restarts but brings me back to the same screen
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

Have you tried starting the phone in safe mode?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I can't get to safe mode
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

What method are you using?

What happens when you try?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Do you mean holding down the power and Down buttons?
Because that has the same effect
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

No, try the Vol+ button.

Start with the phone turned OFF, then press and hold the volume up key, power button and home button all at once.

When the phone vibrates release the power button only. Keep the other two buttons pressed down.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
There is no home button
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

Ignore the Home button requirement if your model does not have it.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
done but it has the same effect
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
39;'phone is starting''
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

Ok, if you are unable to boot the phone into safe mode, then the phone has a hardware fault and will need to be returned to Samsung for repair.

You can arrange a return through the phone where you bought the phone, or online at https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/

Will they perform a factory reset?
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

They will carry out whatever is necessary to repair the phone, or replace it if it is under warranty.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Do you know of anyway to back up anything such as what is in memos?
Expert:  Pete replied 7 months ago.

The phone should be synced to a Cloud account (Google or Samsung) depending on how it was set up, so hopefully all important information has been backed up there.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Ok thanks Pete

You are welcome :)
