My wife has an icloud address but just recently it has been beset with problems possibly linked with an upgrade. She gets notification that a message has arrived - in fact she got 4 notifications within the last hour, but they are not in her in box. Why? Also when she wants to reply to a message she does not have a means of immeditely going to a reoply message screen.
JA: What computer or device are you having trouble syncing?
Customer: iPad
JA: What version of iTunes are you using to sync your iPad?
Customer: I don't know.
JA: When did you last reboot?
Customer: I don't know. I cannot remamber doing it.
JA: Anything else you want the Mac Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: It is not a Mac. It is an iPad.

Is the iCloud email address linked to or accessed on any other devices?

If you aren't sure, you can check at by logging on to iCloud.com, then go to Settings and look at the My Devices section.

Ok, next you will need to try removing the email account from the iPad and add it again.

If the problem persists, check if the missing emails are going to a spam or junk folder.

Also check if any forwarding rules have been set up to automatically put the incoming emails in a particular folder, or delete them, etc.
