Our Panasonic tv keeps losing the picture but keeping sound.

Hello. Our Panasonic tv keeps losing the picture but keeping sound. This has only started happening today.
Assistant: What's the brand and model number of your TV? How old is it?
Customer: TX-5CCX400B
Assistant: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Not sure on the age of tv though.
Assistant: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this?
Customer: All sources. This has only been a problem today. When we first switched it on the picture was faded black on the left and right edges
Assistant: Anything else you want the TV Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: It seems to be having the problem on certain display settings.

Can you please remove the power to the TV (so unplug it from the power socket).

Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the TV, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

Hello. We already did this earlier. We have managed to have picture for the last few minutes but black in fading in on the left and right of the screen.

Is the standby light flashing on the TV?

Not when the tv is on. This includes when there is just sound and no picture.

when the picture fades, does the audio remain on?

It is the internal Tcon board responsible for the display that has faulted.

 

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the TV to have this replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
