I have a Pixma printer and have put a new colour cartridge where the black cartridge should go. I cannot get it out. What should I do?

JA: Are you getting any error messages? Are you able to open the lid that covers the cartridges on your printer?
Customer: Yes. Printer head not installed. Install the printer head.

I know how to load a cartridge, the problem is I loaded a colour cartridge in the black position and i cannot get it out. what do I do.

you will have to push down on the cartridge lever and pry the cartridge out.

try using pliers near the top and pull straight out

I also tried that, there appears to be a ridge on the cartridge that stops it being ejected. Is the space in the cartridge holder the same for black and colour?
