Hello, my Sharp TV has no working remote control, so I use the buttons on the side of the screen. Somehow the TV has ‘jumped’ off Sky, and is on Scart. When I switch it to HDM1 it just goes straight back to Scart. Can you help please.
JA: What is the model of your TV?
Customer: I don’t know the model, it’s just an ordinary flat screen tv.
JA: What menu options can you access, if any?
Customer: Settings, Application, Picture, Sound, Channel
JA: Anything else you want the TV Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no, just that I need help to make the tv work, please.

Can you please remove the power to the TV and any other devices connecting to the TV such as a cable box ect (so unplug it from the power socket).

Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the TV and connecting devices, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

I still cannot get the tv to go to HDM1 by using the buttons on the side of the screen, and the remote control is not working.

We can press the source button on the side of the screen and scroll down to HDM1, but then it just goes back to Scart by itself.

It is the internal mainboard that has faulted. I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the TV to have this replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you. I don’t think the warranty is still in place as the tv is about four years old.

yes, as the input is controlled by the mainboard and we ruled out any other influencing factors for this
