Hi I have a brother mfc-j4625 printer the black ran out, and I mean ran out till it was devoid of ink. Put a new cartridge in and nothing, put a diff new cartridge in same. Carried out all the repair functions and now I get a print but the text is split into 5 sections of print and the near side of each line is faint. Ant ideas

I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your printer. I know that can be frustrating. Hopefully, we can get this resolved quickly.

Can you please remove the power to the printer (so unplug it from the power socket).

Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the printer, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

Hi, yes turned it in just the same print in 5 rows and goes from unreadable to not bad in each column

Hi, I have 2 new cartridges and have tried both but just the same

It is the printhead that has faulted.

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the printer to have this replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
