Is it possible to connect an old Baird TV - model JO47 - to

This answer was rated:

Good morning. Is it possible to connect an old Baird TV - model JO47 - to a sound bar with a USB connector?
JA: What's the brand and model number of your TV? How old is it?
Customer: JO47Baird - approx 12 years
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Not got that far. There is no USB or HDMI out connector on the TV
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this?
Customer: This is the first time I have tried to connect a sound bar to this particular TV
JA: Anything else you want the TV Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No thanks - that's a big enough problem on its own!

Could you attach a photo of the audio output ports on your J047 TV?
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Thanks Pete - I'll certainly send you a photo of the ports area ....but there are no ports labelled 'output'.

Pete, i have to go out shortly. Any thoughts once you've looked at the ports photo?
Hi, thanks for the photo. Since there are only input ports available on this TV, it won't be possible to connect a sound bar to it.

However if you are using an external input source, e.g. a DVD player or Sky box, it may be possible to connect the sound bar to it and play the sound produced by that source instead.

Does that fully answer your question? Please let me know if you have any further questions on this topic and I'll be happy to assist you further.

OK, I suspected this might be the case. Thanks anyway for confirming things.

You are very welcome. Have a great weekend! Pete.
