I'm trying to set up mail on both my iPhone and iPad but having identical problems with both regarding the outgoing server. I am using the identical settings to those on my Mac which is working fine.
Error message is:
Cannot send mail
A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient (let's call it***@******.*** for the moment)was rejected by the server
In fact the recipient of the email (i.e. the name in the 'To' field) is not***@******.*** but a completely different person.

Hello! I am IT Miro and I will assist you on this question.

Please let me know the name of the e-mail provider you use and I will check for the correct outgoing server settings.

These were the one's I used:

Host Name:

User Name: blank

Password: blank

Use SSL: turned off

Authentication: no option selected

Server port: 25

There are several different mailboxes from Fasthosts you can use:

- Exchange 2013
- Professional
- Starter, Standard
- StarterPlus, Advanced
- Exchange 2003

Which one do you use?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Starter Plus...sorry!

Thanks for the information!

Please enter the following information for Outgoing mail server:

Host Name:
Username: your full e-mail address
Password: your password
SSL and authentication: OFF
Port: 225 or 587

Let me know the results.

Bingo!! So I assume that these settings would also work with my Mac desktop. I don't know why their helpline couldn't have sorted this so easily!! Many thanks.

It looks like there are 2 different outgoing mail servers for Fasthosts e-mail account:

So, if the first one doesn't work, use the second one.

I am glad I could help! Smile
