The ocons on my desktop are occasionally re-positioned without my requesting that. Is there any way I can stop that happening ?
Assistant: What's the brand/model and Operating System (OS) of your laptop?
Customer: My laptop is a Toshiba but I cannot find the model number. It is using Windows 7.
Assistant: What have you tried so far with your laptop? Have you installed any updates recently?

To set the icons on your desktop the way you want do this:

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop and select View.

From the menu that opens, remove the checkmark from the two items:

Auto arrange icon

Align icons to grid

With the checkmarks removed from both you can drag and drop the icons

to any location on the desktop.
