whenever I open Thunderbird, it opens many times at once and I cannot close them. I have tried uninstalling and then re-installing but it makes no difference.

Customer: Virgin
Assistant: How do you usually access your email? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: on my laptop
Assistant: What's the brand/model and Operating System (OS) of your laptop?
Customer: Samsung windows 10
Assistant: What have you tried so far with your laptop? Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: no I haven't it started doing this last night.
Assistant: Anything else you want the Computer Expert to know before I connect you?

If you right click on one of the instances in the task bar and select close, does this shut that instance off?
