We have dismissed someone for gross misconduct for the following reasons.
(1) your lies and false accusations in email communications to third parties using company servers during the working day and (2) your behaviour in the office yesterday, including the use of company computers and working hours for your private job hunting.
(3) using his pregnant wife as an excuse to leave the conference - TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2013 on the 6 - 7 June 2013. We have now found out that not only did he ask member of staff to lie for him but that this reason was untrueand that he left because he could not deal with the pressure. Do we still have to pay him for the last three weeks he has worked? can we deduct costs. Ie his accommodation on-site, rail fare, Food and beverage for when he lied and did not report to work? Do we have a case against him for gross misconduct?
