My 44yr old son has suffered with every symtom of a thyroid

Customer Question

My 44yr old son has suffered with every symtom of a thyroid problem . However when he has been tested his results were considered borderline and no further action taken . We thankfully managed to obtain an appointment with Dr Skinner , who was willing to treat him . He gave him a prescription for thyroxin for three months . Many of his symtoms subsided . Sadly three days before our second appointment Dr Skinner passed away . Since then our son ,who had been treated for depression with many different antidepressants but never had any relief , tried twice to take his own life .After being admitted to hospital was told , he did not have depression but a personality disorder . His antidepressants were withdrawn and since July2015 has had no help at all . Two weeks ago he was offered hourly group therapy once a month for 30 months . But as a mother , I can see him getting worse . He had ABSOLUTLY no self motivation . Spends most of his time in the dark crying . Wearing three layers of clothes and with the heating on and now weighs 22stones . He had a sister in New York who is being successfully treated for Hashymotos . He has MANY other symptoms of thyroid problems . I am SO desperate to find an endocrinologist or Dr who will look at his many clinical symptoms despite him testing borderline .There are many more factors making me seek help but I am desperate .

There is no way to guarantee that an endo will do this for him
It is really a crap shoot whether they will or not
He is doing so bad and I'm sorry
You will just have to keep looking.
