Hi, I have had a fever and a respiritory infection for 3 days and on the 3rd day i woke up feeling alot of pain in my thyroid, it is not going away an has a very uncomfortable. I am a 20 year old man and I am most worried of cancer. Can I get a hint of what is happening?

First off, thyroid cancer doesn't suddenly happen like this and it isn't ever painful or tender

Most likely what you're feeling is a lymph node that is draining an infection from your throat.

That isn't at all serious but you need to see your doctor for an exam and a course of antibiotics to treat this

Thank you very much I am much more comfortable now. I thought if its there it will be a 100% thyroid something like de quervain thyroiditis at the least
