Do you think weight gain is due to dose reduction?

Expert:  drphophalia replied 14 days ago.

Apologies for any intrusion of those automatic offers for phone calls. These are produced by the website automatically and outside of my control.

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
No problem. Yes I think it is definitely due to dose reduction
Expert:  drphophalia replied 14 days ago.

Thanks for the further information.

I am writing the answer for you and will get back to you in 5 minutes.

Unless you wish to speak in person, you can ignore the request for a phone call automatically generated by the website, not by me.

Thank you.

Thank you Dr

The usual recommended thyroxine dose is weight in kgs multiplied by 1.4.

So your GP may reconsider increasing the dose if your T3 and T4 were in the normal range. TSH alone, in that case, may not be considered.

The dose increase would help in reducing your weight and prevent weight gain.

I hope your symptoms resolve soon.

I would be happy to assist you further if you need any more information.
