Endocrinology Questions? Ask an Endicrinologist for Answers ASAP
Hello. This is Dr Geyik and I will be assisting you today.
Can I please ask your age/gender and if you have any other medical conditions or allergies, or take medications?
Are you able to attach a picture of your toe here for assessment?
If you squashed your toe, you might have cause a bit of injury and the toe might actually fall off.
I suggest you try paracetamol and soak it in warm water to see if these would help.
There might be a bit of fungal infection as well, so if above measures do not work, you can get over the counter nail fungal remedies and try them.
Sorry, I meant your toenail might fall off and NOT your toe. Sorry!
You take oral paracetamol to reduce the redness and swelling.
And if you notice that your toe itself is becoming painful or black colour, then you should call 111 for further assessment.
Yes, you can take paracetamol in diabetes but it is best to avoid ibuprofen due to your medications.
