Within the past hour I have suddenly had a large semi circular

This answer was rated:

Within the past hour I have suddenly had a large semi circular line develop around the edge of the left hand side of my left eye. It appears when I move my eye and then disappears. I can also glimpse a smallish darkish thread like shape (like a floater) next to the semi circular shape (about half way around the ring) which does not disappear. My sight
has not been affected.
I am very concerned about the sudden appearance of problems in my good left eye as my right eye is currently recovering from a retinal detachment operation 2 months ago and has very limited sight.
This sudden symptom is a serious symptom - you should be evaluated immediately by your eye care professional (optometrist or ophthalmologist) or an emergency department physician immmediately. This could represent a retinal tear or partial retinal detachment.
