My 9 month old girl is always rubbing her right eye I'm

My 9 month old girl is always rubbing her right eye I'm worried she has something small in it that I can't see. Does she need a slit lamp exam and us thus expensive if I pay privately (would she need to be sedated etc)

Customer: She's 9 months old so I can't ask her but she rubs her eye a lot and seems more unhappy that usual.

Lacrimal gland (which keeps the eyes moist and forms tears) inflammation can cause these symptoms.

An exam by an eye specialist would be advised.

She would not need anesthesia or a slit lamp exam.

She may be prescribed antibiotic drops.

I hope her symptoms resolve soon.

There is not much to see in a picture but she has symptom of rubbing her eye so much the eyelid is red I'm worried could she have something in her eye that I can't see (small particles) and that are stuck there. Does she need a slit lamp exam to make sure there's nothing in her eye.

Only after an initial exam, it can be known if she needs a slit exam or not.

But usually, it is not needed in kids.
