if my husband has had a free consultation with a solicitor regarding a divorce and he is not going to act for him does that mean they cannot help me

Hello there,

Although some Solicitors are different in their views, this Solicitor should NOT act for you as there is a Conflict of Interest, in that he has information concerning your husband which he would have obtained at the free consultation.

The best thing for him to do, therefore, and to avoid any potential problem down the road, is to tell you that he can not act and that you should go and see another Solicitor.
