Hi, I am going through a divorce. I have 3 children and my

Customer Question

Hi, I am going through a divorce. I have 3 children and my husband has a highly paid job
(he earns £123,00 plus bonuses). We jointly own our house.
I do not work at the moment. I have arthritis, which limits the kind of work that I can do.
I used to be a nurse, but that type of heavy work, where I am on my feet all day, aggravates my arthritis. I've already he'd to have both kneecaps replaced, as it was so bad.
My question is, can my husband make me sell the house?

Our house is on the market. My husband says he will be 'in the shit,' financially, if we don't sell. This is not the case. My solicitor has taken a preliminary look at his financial situation and says that if I stayed in the house, he would still have around £90,000 in cash.
I don't want to move, mostly because my children don't want to move. I want them to feel as secure as possible.
My husband is not putting their needs please can you tell me what my rights are?
Many thanks,
