Can a parent exclude an estranged adult child from his Will

This answer was rated:

Can a parent exclude an estranged adult child from his Will by stating in his Will that he has made no provision for said child? Will such a provision be upheld in the event said child contest the will?
Thank you for your question.
My name is Clare
I will do my best to help you but I need some further information first.
How old is the child and is the child in any way financially dependent on the parent?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Thank you for the above.

The adult child is 58 and is in no way financially dependent on the parent.

I should add that the parent is of sound mind and under no form of duress.

I look forward to your advice.

Provided that there is clear evidence that the Parent was of sound mind (get a medical report) and not under any undue influence (see a solicitor alone) then there is no claim that the adult child can make
It is best to enclose a letter confirming that that child's position was considered and the exclusion was a conscious decision
I hope that this is of assistance - please ask if you need further details
