My 32-year-old son,Toby, maintains that his mother's ex-husband

This answer was rated:

My 32-year-old son,Toby, maintains that his mother's ex-husband is his stepfather, Mike, who divorced his mother in the late-1970s. Toby was born on 1 January 1983, lived with his mother in England until late 1995, when the court granted me sole custody, because of his mother's "abuse by neglect", and permission to remove him from the jurisdiction. Taking him with me to Vienna, then to Rome, where I was working first for IBM Austria and later for IBM Italy.
Is my son correct ni maintaining that Mike is his stepfather?
Thank you for your question.
My name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help you
Legally since the marriage to his mother had ended before his birth her former husband was never in fact his step father.
However there is nothing wrong with using it as a curtesy title
