Divorce proceedings not started I have no savings and live in a residential mobile home on a private estate, my income is approx £1,200 per month made up of 2 pensions, army and civil service.
I believe my wife get roughly the same amount although she bought the house she lives in and has been receiving disability benefits ever since I have known her. I am unaware of any savings she might have

She also gets a civil service pension.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I believe she sold our matrimonial home for about £110,000 and she will not tell me how much she has inherited but she is buying a Barn conversion with the money and not needing to sell the house she is living in to help fund he purchase
How much would a one bedroom property in your area cost to buy?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
between £60.000 and £100.000 depending on whether it is a flat or bungalow
There s no requirement for your wife to share her funds with you whilst you are married. If there is a divorce then you have a chance to make a financial claim on her - and her inheritance will form part of the assets for consideration - but not necessarily for sharing. The issue will be whether or not the court feels that you are adequately housed and your reasonable needs met.At best you may be able to claim £60,000 - but even that is far from certain as much depends on how much she received and what your needs arePlease ask if you need further details
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Thank you for your reply, I will instigate divorce proceedings and take it from there.
You are most welcome I hope all goes well
