Is it true that pension monies and savings belonging to one

This answer was rated:

Is it true that pension monies and savings belonging to one spouse have to be split equally between the parties?

In divorce proceedings the court has the power to split the pensions of parties. Whether they exercise that power would depend on the circumstances of the case, such as, if one party does not have a pension because they looked after the children and were deprived of the opportunity of gaining a pension by doing so

Best wishes
