I have a 54plate Mondeo 2.0 TDCI (130). I have excessive smoke

Customer Question

I have a 54plate Mondeo 2.0 TDCI (130). I have excessive smoke on starting the car up, but once it has been running, ie I have driven for a short distance (a few hundred metres), it dissapears. I was initially told it was the glow plugs which were needing replaced, which I have done, but the problem still persists.

Have you checked the voltage supply to the glowplugs and the glowplug relay?
