Hi there ,good afternoon to you

Ok what fault codes we're logged when the diagnostic fault code check was carried out

Is there any whooshing or rush of air type noises when you are accelerating

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

there was no fault found on diagnostic check no whooshing of air type noises

Hi there , thanks

Ok if the engine systems Failure message appears and the vehicle has entered limp home mode then there WILL he a diagnostic fault logged
It may be the garage you went to only has a small scanner /code reader which is only capable of picking up generic fault codes not manufactors codes (a common issue with smaller garages )

before going any further a diagnostic fault code check of the PCM Must Be done
This is imperative to correctly diagnosing this fault right first time and saving you a lot of time and Money
As misdiagnosis of this engine can be expensive
The engine management system is very complex and technical on this 1.8TDCI
Thus why a fault code is an absolute must when diagnosis faults

The most common issue we see on this engine is a split intercooler hose at the drivers rear of the engine
This causes a mismatch in boost pressure. Demand V actual and the PCM detects this and takes the car into limp home mode so it may be worth a
Having a look at this rubber hose. For any splits first
This fault logs a fault code of P0299 turbo underboost

If this hose looks ok then you really need to have a higher quality fault code check done as this is imperative to our diagnostics and resolving this issue correctly
