whooshing when accelerating .

Hi there thanks

Ok the fault lies with a leak in the intercooler system
Most commonly the intercooler pipe on the drivers side of the engine bay
The whooshing you can hear is caused by the turbo driven air escaping when accelerating

To trace the exact point of concern with the aid of a second person get them to rev the engine hard at a standstill and listen for the point of the air escaping use your fingers to feel for the burst of air
Most commonly the drivers side intercooler hose splits.

I have located a split in the intercooler pipe and have covered it with duck tape for now but I have to travel 200 miles on wednesday. Do you think it will get me there and back please.

Hi there thanks

Ok yes the vehicle will be fine to drive

I would advise taping it up really tightly to limit the leak as excesive driving with an air leak can cause door accumulation in the DPF system
So try and make sure the duct tape is tight
