Mike. I left a gadget in the cigar socket of my 2003 Fiesta

Customer Question

Hi Mike. I left a gadget in the cigar socket of my 2003 Fiesta Gia which flattened the battery. When I connect an jump battery to the car the alarm horn goes off & the indicator lights flash. I disconnected the jump leads to stop it. How can I get around this?
Thanks John

Hello John I'd say that your battery is so flat that any attempt to jump it will only set off the alarm as the system hasn't got enough voltage to operate properly and so allow you to unlock the alarm I'd suggest to charge the battery overnight via the 12V lighter socket or onto the battery terminals with the battery still connected to the carthis should gradually bring the voltage up and restore the normal function if you still have issues after this you may need a new battery as they can be damaged if completely discharged
