I have a ford galaxy 2013 Automatic 2.0 tdciRecently while running “ Transmission malfunctions “ message appears on dashboard and we hi left looses gear functions. Once switched it off and on it is back to normal. It happened twice in 6 months any advice

I had done all the services .is it the problem of ECU or the gearbox. As I told once switched off and resta6the problem is gone.

Hi there thank

Yes I understand this but the powershift gearbox is very complex setup

ie this could be a speed sensor fault which would give you the same issue

it could be a gear postion sensor that would give you the same issue

thus why a fault code check is important

the TCM comes complete with the valve body and can be changed without removing the gearbox

I have changed a few of these tcm/valve body’s over the years for all different concerns
