Is there a compatible key entry system for a ford transit

This answer was rated:

is there a compatible key entry system for a ford transit custom 2009 2.2
JA: Is the key stripped or worn?
Customer: yes a bit but i was talking to the mechanic and he reckons that i need a complete system and i can't seem to get one online thus the compatibility question
JA: Are you fixing your Transit yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: no i have it in with a general mechanic who would normally do servicing etc he hasn't touched it yet but feels that i need the complete system
JA: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

not that i know of i am just trying to get the part that the mechanic has said id needed but i can't seem to find one so i am asking is there a compatible part from any of the other transit models that i could use to do the job there are a number of systems on eBay for transits but i dont know if they'll be suitable

Did the remote fob stop working at the same time as the starting concern

have you had a diagnostic fault code check carried out as of yet

what part are you liking for ie the BCMii (Body Control Module)

As this is the main immobiliser component

its not my van its my sons and i don't think a diagnostic fault has been carried out the mechanic who's looking at it thinks that it needs a key entry kit/ecu set there are a number of them eBay but i dont know if they would be compatible as there are systems from the transit custom 2.2

Hi there it would be very rare for a pcm /ecu to just fail

I would start with a fault code check then see what the fuel rail pressure is reading on crank looking around 350 bar

if you are looking for an ECU it needs to be the same part number as the one on the vehicle you cannot mid and match ecus

the number will be example : 7s7t-12a650-cc

this is the basic part number and is the one you need to check on the sticker of the existing ecu
