Customer: Local man can't fix it - the exclamation mark comes on the screen with faint beeping and the indicators cease working and the temperature no longer shows. It is intermittent, what needs doing?
JA: How many miles are on the car? Have you checked the coolant level?
Customer: 59000 miles, collant level looks OK
JA: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Indicators DO show externally, but not on the internal display. Headlights OK too.

Hi thanks

Ok the fault is caused by a loose connector on the lower side of the fuse box in the passengers footwell

If you look upward in the passengers footwell you will see the bottom of the fuse box (some have a material cover which is held by 2 push clips ) if so remove this

Then inspect the 2 thin pull home type multiplugs and you will find one is loose(just not right home )

This is commonly caused by a bag or someone's foot catching the plug

Refit the loose plug and your fault will be resolved

OK but couldn't find anything loose, however I pressed every bit home. Display seems to be operating all right for the moment but it WAS a very intermittent fault.
