Hi Craig

The most common issue is the immobilizer unit at the ignition switch is faulty and will need to be replaced.

You can try the following reset procedure below

Open and leave open the driver door

Place key in the ignition and turn to on position and leave

Disconnect the negative battery cable only

After 1 minute, reconnect the negative battery

The immobilizer should go off within 1 minute

Turn key off for 5 seconds and then crank engine

My Ford kuga is keyless start stop button so can’t insert key
Expert:  Eric replied 18 days ago.

Hi

Do the following then.

Open and leave open the driver door

Press the start button WITHOUT pressing the brake pedal

Disconnect the negative battery cable only

After 1 minute, reconnect the negative battery

The immobilizer should go off within 1 minute

Press start button without pressing the brake pedal and wait for 5 seconds and then crank engine

Hi

Look at the battery and beside the battery posts one will. Have a plus symbol and one will have the minus symbol. The minus is negative

Expert:  Eric replied 18 days ago.

In the USA we call it negative. I believe you refer to it as earth or ground
