Hello there,

I have an arrangement that I can get BMD records over the phone.

The office closed 4.30

He would have been receiving an Irish Army pension.

He had a sister Margaret born 1941

I may have to wait until Monday morning to get his info

A family member may know what happened to him

Brendan

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Unless Margaret died at birth then thats not him. He only had a brother born 1937 Pascal, who died in 2009. We have asked his daughter Jean and his brothers son who still lives in Ireland and no one knows nothing. The Irish family only know he left Ireland in 1962/3 and set sail for Birmingham UK. We dont know if he knows about the deaths of his brother or son .. Look forward to hearing from you
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My partner has come across a page which seems to have William and Pascals mother as Bridget Whitter 1909-1961,

Hello there,

I have nothing to do with accounts.

Strange no one knew of these other children. They either all died before she remarried or she gave them all up for adoption

Hello there,

No death record turns up for him in the UK

No Oscar or William Henry with the above birthdate turns up in records.

He may have been living under the radar.

Phone Military pensions in Galway, they are usually very helpful.

Hello there,

A lot of soldiers suffered after Jadotville.

Post traumatic stress.

I would definitely phone military pensions, they have helped me before.

Brendan

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thank you I will

Hello there,

Explain to them that he served in Jadotville and that you believe

he is suffering loss of memory, no need to give them the full story.

If he has died they will know, the pension was about 150 a week

I cannot see him not collecting it
