Hi Brendan, I was expecting attachments to your email. I have just found your attachments on your website!
The names Haurihane (Owen and Ellen) and Horogan (Owen) seem somewhat different to Hourhan and Hourican. So I am a little perplexed. Clearly from the 1871 Census, Owen Hourhan, (you say Hourican), was in Ireland with his wife and two children before departing to England. Also, he had two children before the marriage date of 1860.
My neighbour is Owen Hourhan (aged 94) and he says the Hourhans came from Queenstown.

Hello there,

I dis not know where Owen married and was baptised when I researched this question.

I carried out an all Ireland search.

Turns up he was baptised and married in Youghal.

Youghal is the next parish to Queenstown

Names are ***** ***** wrong in Irish records.

Owen was born 15 years before the National school system started in Ireland.

He probably could not read or write.

Hi Brendan, Thanks. The $24,000 question for me is - how do I verify that Robert and Mary are Owen's parents.
Stuart

Hello there,

The marriage was correct in Youghal

Why would the baptism record not be correct?

Brendan

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
Hi Brendan, Yes, I agree the two docs seem correct. My concern is, are the Owens in your two documents, the same Owen in the UK 1871 Census doc. Hope you can connect them for me please. Clearly the Owen in the UK census was born in Ireland. I wish the Census had said Yougal!
Stuart

Hello there,

Hi Brendan, Very interesting, thank you. I guess as Owen is the one match, then it is highly likely that he is the same Owen! One last request pl. Can you pl find the birth dates for Robert and Mary for the Family Tree.

Hi Stuart,

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Hi Brendan, Glad you like the Tree. 2 of the children in the 1871 Census (Patrick and Mary) were born before the marriage in 1860. Ellen was 10 years older than Owen. If Ellen was married previously with the 2 children, then that would help to validate my Tree, because otherwise 2 children out of marriage could be a big issue particularly in a catholic community.
Would you pl try to find a previous marriage for Ellen.
Stuart

Hello there.

Patrick baptism turns up.
