I have an Edge 1000 and it rapidly turns off when I turn it on. Can you help Thank you
JA: Who makes your GPS?
Customer: Its a Garmin edge 1000. Is that what you mean?
JA: The GPS Technician will be able to walk you through that. What have you tried so far with your Garmin?
Customer: You'll have worked out I'm technically inept! I have held the on/off button for a period to try and re set but I haven't really a clue what I'm doing
JA: Anything else you want the GPS Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No. Thank you

I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Edge. I know that can be frustrating. Hopefully, we can get this resolved quickly.

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.

Hold the power button to off for 60 seconds.

Release, then try to turn on the unit.

Sorry it does turn off but only after it turns on and then when I hold the on/off button it keeps turning on and then off

It is the internal mainboard that has faulted.

 

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the unit to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
