I have a 6.0m wide garage with two bedrooms above, the floor

Customer Question

I have a 6.0m wide garage with two bedrooms above, the floor joists of the bedrooms are supported by a beam over the garage door. as you can imagine the floor is a bit bouncy so I would like to " help" the floor by installing a u beam under the joists in the garage. This would also relieve the garage door beam of some of the weight it now supports. My question is what size beam would best suit this job. Span into brickwork 6300mm TT
