Very strange noises coming from boiler
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

Hi, 90% of all the faults currently are due to frozen condense pipework.

Are you able to reach your outside - it will be 3/4" and white from the boiler but may increase in size outside?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
It’s definitely not condenser pipe. Have checked pump - fine. Have drained and refilled system. Have loosened brass valve at top of boiler - no air just water coming out. Lots of gurgling and no ignition
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

Ok, boiler is full of water.

Does the boiler come on and then boil the water and overheat?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
No fault is A01 ignition failure
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

Ok, does it make the normal noises - fan, etc?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Can you call me then you can hear?
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

Sorry at work

Does it make the normal noises like when it starts but just not fire?

Does your model have a viewing window to see if it actually lights?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Noises definitely not normal. Loud gurgling and what sounds like whale noises (air I assume). No viewing window
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Flame icon comes on/goes off 5-6 times then error message
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Sounds more like a dishwasher than a boiler but louder
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

Can you disconnect the condense outside and see if you can blow backwards to the boiler?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
I can disconnect yes, what do you mean blow backwards?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

With your mouth (perhaps with tissue around) and see if the line is clear.

You should be able to blow lightly all the way back to the condense trap.

This will ensure it is clear and there is no scum in the bottom of the trap

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
that did it!!!
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Thank you!!!
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

Woo hoo!

Perhaps disconnect outside and let it drip all over the floor rather than being able to freeze in the pipe until the weather gets better.

Will do Nice one! A 5 year old boy is very excited that he can have a bath
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 9 months ago.

And you get to tell him you sorted it ;-P
