I have an TP5000-RF thermostat with an RX1 programmer. the screen has gone black and new batteries have not brought it back to life. Can I replace it or should I replace the RX1 as well. Unit was install in 2003. Harry

Customer: Danfoss randall TP5000RF/TP.2RF 08/7N6998.Warrantyexpiry 2 dec 04
JA: How long has this been going on with your thermostat? What have you tried so far?
Customer: A few days. New batteries ,reset procedure.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: We did have a series of power outages before I noticed it not working.

Try resetting and re-pairing - see the attached manual page.

In that case, regretfully, I think you're looking at a new unit.

IMHO it's unwise to replace just one of the pair. The software might well not be fully compatible, and you'd have no in-warranty support. And you might even struggle to find one of the pair without the other. Go for a new matching set.
