My 2001 Tiburon coupe has 'died'

This answer was rated:

My 2001 Tiburon coupe has 'died' - starter motor turns but engine won't start. My local garage say pump isn't working and no spark. I have a obd11 scanner, ISO 9141 protocol connects but says MIL 'off' and 'no modules'. General electrical functions are working, alarm (lights flash and sounds), warning lights on dashboard, windows, etc. Any ideas please? Thank you, ***** ***** Chester, UK

What causes this problem on these vehicles is a failed crank shaft position sensor, this is a common failure on these vehicles and results in this problem. The sensor will need to be ohm tested and likely replaced.
