I meet most of the requirements for naturalization as a British

Customer Question

I meet most of the requirements for naturalization as a British citizen. My problem is that I have 6 points on my driving licence from 2011, one was a fixed penalty that I paid and the other , I did not pay immediately and received an invitation to attend court, which I paid it before I go to court. I work as a doctor and wondered if I can still apply for naturalization or shall I wait for three years to finish as per the the non-custodial sentences threshold.

As you only have 2 fixed penalty notices and paid the other one before you went to court, you should be fine to apply now as you were not convicted by the court, even though you were invited to go to court.

Hope this helps

When they sent me the court invitation as far as I remember I filled the form on which I stated that I was guilty and paid court costs, does that change things at all.

In that case you should wait for 3 years as per the non custodial sentence.

All the best
