1. The most common refusal for a visa based on marriage is the income limit of £18,600. Wherer there is sufficient income, the second most common reason for refusal is that the application "is not a fit and proper person " to get the visa based on marriage. However, you need to realise that these are a very small number of cases and they generally involve a "sham" marriage entered into for the purposes of getting a visa.
