Good day. I am here on a tier 2 general Visa and want to bring my son to meet me. I am a single parent. His father has never been in his life and his name is ***** ***** the birth certificate. My son resides in Trinidad. I would like to know if I need a court order letter go apply for his UK Visa to meet me or if a notarized affidavit will be fine
Assistant: What steps have you taken? Have you filed any paperwork with the UK government? What country do you live in? What is your citizenship?
Customer: I am in the process of doing the Visa application for him. I live Surrey England. I am trinidadian. I was recruited as a nurse to work and live here with the option to bring my son to join me
Assistant: Have you talked to a lawyer about the tier 2 visa?
Customer: No. That's why I am enquiring here
Assistant: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: No not presently

Hi How can I help?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I am not seeing the response

How old is your son?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
No no. Messaging is fine
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
He is 10 years

Where is the father? Any reason he is not named on your son birth certificate

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
He's not named because he didn't want the child
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I have no contact with the father in knowing where he is

If he is not named on the birth certificate you do not require his consent

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Thank you. So I can send a notarized letter home stating I am the sole carer for my mom to take to the embassy with her and that will be fine?

Yes you can

Thank you very much. You have been a great help

The father is does not have any parental Responsibility as he is not named on the birth certificate and you are the sole and main primary carer.

Glad I could help
