Customer Question

My current BRP expires on 14/06/2021. My husband just received his new BRP, and I am looking to extend my tier 2 dependent application. I will submit my online application now, but it is unlikely that I will get my biometric before 14/06/2021? Will that be fine? Should only the online application be submitted before expiry date or the biometric also needs to be done before expiry date?

I am a solicitor.

You should apply before 14 June 2021 and your biometrics may be done after you have applied, you are protected by S.3C of the Immigration Act 1971 as long as you apply on or before your current visa expiry date.

May I help further?

biometric appointment should neccesarily be done before 14th June 2021? or can be done after that as well depending on whenever I get the appointment (because currently appointments are few)?

That can be done after.

All the best
