In Ireland if you are arrested for drink driving is there minimum amount of time before they give you your keys back by law

Buachaill :

1. Firstly, until such times as you are convicted of drink driving you remain free to drive. Accordingly, you should go and get your keys off the Gardai if you still haven't collected them since April. The Gardai have no lawful basis to keep them from you. You are free to drive until such time as you are convicted. Secondly, if you get convicted, then there is a mandatory two year driving ban involved. HOwever, this only runs from the date of conviction.
