Appropriate daily fee rate to participate in a deposition

Customer Question

As a named co-inventor on a patent that is the subject of current litigation between two major US auto parts/systems suppliers - Magna Corp ($36 billion and TRW $16 billion). I have been deposed by one of the parties. The other party is my ex employer to whom I assigned the patent as one of the standard conditions of my employment at that time. My ex employer has offered to pay me a daily rate for my time spent dealing with the matter. I have found this request and the communications relating to it to date to be highly intrusive given I left their employment in 2007 when they closed their operations in Ireland. My question for the lawyers on-line is "What would be considered a reasonable and fair daily rate to charge?"
