My partner was made redundant from Thomas Cook flight deck

Customer Question

My partner was made redundant from Thomas Cook flight deck last September. He secured a job flying for SASIreland that had a start date of 16 March 2020. He has signed a contract and submitted bank details to that effect. We have email confirmation that although he had a start date of 16 March and a course beginning on 23 March this would be delayed. We are now at the end of his 6 months entitlement to Job Seekers Allowance. We rely on this being paid into our account to release our mortgage insurance payment. His appointment at the job centre this week has been cancelled. Where do we stand? Can we expect SAS Ireland to pay him at the end of this month? Your advice and help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I’m Ben, a UK lawyer and will be dealing with your case today. I may also need to ask some questions to determine the legal position.

Is his contract under UK laws?

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
The company is based in Dublin so I’m guessing no?

Hi there, I must apologise for this. It seems this has not been flagged under the correct legal system. I will ensure that this s flagged for the moderator's attention as we have plenty of Irish lawyers who can help with this. It's essential you don't reply until recategorised. I'll flag t now.
