We have a S Type Jaguar the motion sensor alarm keeps going

This answer was rated:

We have a S Type Jaguar the motion sensor alarm keeps going off. The only way to
stop the alarm going off is to leave it unlocked. The car has been with Listers Jaguar Worcester who ran a SDD - "No Fault Stored" They cannot find anything wrong with it.
We are still unable to use the car as the alarm keeps going off when locked.
Can you help?

1st thing to try is close all the air vents in the car

if this helps at all then the air motion sensor is set at too sensitive a level

the dealer or a Jaguar specialist can then adjust the sensitivity to give some leeway

Thanks for your advice the Jaguar dealer has already lowered the

sensitivity level as it was set too high. The alarm still goes off but is

now louder than before and the intervals between the alarm are longer.

Is there anyway of isolating the alarm?

Hello Robert

the alarm siren is located in the front wheel arch - behind the liner

and its possible to disable this siren

however another possibility is the backup battery inside the siren is past it as they onyl last 6 years and if the siren voltage is too low it'll produce all sorts of faults so it may need replacing

I'd suggest getting a security firm involved as they're much more flexible regarding this sort of issue and a lot cheaper

Hi Matt,

Thank you for all your advice which we have passed on the garage examining the car. We hope that with this information, they will fix the problem and return the car to us tomorrow.
